A growing private pediatric practice in the northern Grand Rapids, Michigan area is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is passionate about providing high-quality, comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents in a supportive outpatient setting.

This position offers a strong work-life balance, no hospital duties, and the opportunity to collaborate with trusted regional pediatric resources, including the local Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care, including but not limited to:

• Conducting thorough medical evaluations, physical examinations, and health assessments for pediatric patients.
• Diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
• Providing preventive care, including immunizations, growth monitoring, developmental screenings, and anticipatory guidance.
• Supporting healthy growth and development from infancy through adolescence.
• Educating parents and caregivers on treatment plans, wellness strategies, nutrition, safety, and developmental milestones.
• Documenting patient encounters accurately using Office Practicum EHR.
• Maintaining complete and compliant medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborating with local pediatric hospitalists and specialists when higher-level care is needed.
• Coordinating with the local Children’s Hospital for admissions, newborn delivery support, and specialty care referrals.

Schedule and Call

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Walk-in clinic: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Call schedule: 1:3
• No hospital duties
  • No admissions
  • No newborn service
  • Admissions and newborn care are managed by local pediatric hospitalists
• Phone nurse triage service handles approximately 99% of patient calls
• Saturday clinic runs from Labor Day through Memorial Day
  • Pediatrician on call covers a 2-hour Saturday walk-in clinic

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics.
• Active or eligible Michigan medical license.
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based pediatric care.
• Excellent communication skills with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a private practice environment.
• Experience with Office Practicum EHR is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.
